April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

...a time to recognize that we each can play a part in promoting the social and emotional well-being of children and families in our community.  

As in past years, stakeholders in Carson City, including but not limited to the Division of Child and Family Services along with Advocates to End Domestic Violence, will plant pinwheels on the lawn at the legislature on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11:00am.  

The First Lady of Nevada, Kathleen Sandoval will be making a speech along with participating in planting the pinwheels.  

We would be very grateful if everyone can help us get the word out to our community about being judicious and preventing child maltreatment. Often our citizens are hesitant to report child abuse because they don't know how or understand that they may remain anonymous so this is an opportunity for all of us in Carson City to engage in a dialogue to promote child well-being.
